FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION 16 CFR Part 255
The FTC Advertising Endorsements and Testimonials Guide states the new guidelines for disclosure of material connection in advertizing. You must now disclose any material connection between involved parties in marketing and advertizing such as the vendor, the producer or supplier and the reviewer or endorser.
For example in Internet Marketing that relies heavily on testimonials and endorsements, the new FTC regulations dictate that a testimonial or endorsement must be true and any payments made, or other benefits provided to the endorser, be disclosed.
